ZeroAvia is set to launch the world’s first hydrogen-electric air cargo services in the UK, marking a major milestone in sustainable aviation. Partnering with RVL Aviation at East Midlands Airport, the company will retrofit Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft with its ZA600 hydrogen-electric powertrain. These zero-emission flights won’t require brand-new aircraft—just a cutting-edge retrofit.

The project is backed by lessor MONTE, which will supply the aircraft. Routes across the British Isles have been confirmed, and hydrogen supply logistics are in place. Once certification is secured, operations will begin. This initiative not only showcases the ZA600’s real-world potential but also sets the stage for ZeroAvia’s larger ZA2000 system, designed for regional aircraft. Clean, cost-efficient cargo flights are nearly here—and the future of hydrogen aviation looks bright.
