Not everyone is willing to take extreme risks in wearing nail polish and getting their nails decorated. So for some, the safest and most wearable nail art option they have is to wear lovely colors such as pastel.
Today’s blog post is all about pastel colors. I will be sharing with you my favorite pastel nail polish looks, as well as nail art designs. I hope you like them as much as I do.
But first, let me share to you some DIY manicure tips to make your hands and nails prettier in those pastel colors:
Tip #1: Keep your nails at a comfortable length. If you want a cleaner and more polished look, especially if you’re a student or you’re working in a strict corporate environment, keep your nails at an acceptable and comfortable length — not too short but not too long either.
Tip #2: Soften and smoothen your nail edges. Because obviously, nails with rigged and uneven edges do not look good, even with the most expensive nail polish and elaborate nail art design. Make sure that your nails are neatly filed before painting them.
Tip #3: Do not soak your nails. A lot of manicurists (and even some of us sometimes) want to dip our fingernails in water before to nail polish application. This should be avoided because according to experts, this practice makes it harder for nail polish to stick on your nails and may also result in chipping.
Tip #4: Choose a pretty color. Just because it looks good on the bottle doesn’t mean that it will look good on you. Choose a shade that complements your skin tone. Pastels may work well with everyone, but it is best to choose something that looks good on your hands.
Tip #5: Make the manicure last longer. If possible, choose nail polish in gel form so that it can last for two weeks or more.
Tip #6: Do regular touchups. It is advised to apply the top coat once every two to three days.
